Hi there. Thank you for visiting my website. I was born in 1968 in a small town of Slovakia called Fülek where I still live.
I fell in love with drawing since my childhood which gave me a strong foundation to my work. I have 3 sons and I’m a proud dad and we are celebrating our 25 year anniversary with my wife in our beautiful marriage. The safe family background is what gave me the safe space for me, even in the bad times. I’ve been working only as a knife maker for 15 years from now. Every single technique which I’m using was learnt only by autodidact route. I create my knives only by hand, without any kind of pneumatic instrument till this day. I make only 5-6 pieces a year. I was on my first international knife show in the year 2000 and I’ve shown my work on countless occasions all over the globe. I’ve won more than 50 awards in these years. I use multiple techniques, but my personal identificator is the deep carving, which means that a 3D relief is decorating the steel. I love and use the schrimshaw and bulino techniques. My favorite topic to work on is when I’m representing some historical figures or some nationalities, mythology or culture by making a thematic knife about them. I made multiple pieces for families which represent the history of the family for the young generations and these are functioning as a heritage also. I had the opportunity to make more investitional pieces also. The real challenge is when I need to look more deeply into the background of the topic in order to be clear about some of the details of my work.
